Abstract: Laboratory apparatus f o r studying t h e c a t a l y t i c reduction of carbon monoxide with hydrogen has been designed, fabricated, and operated.Excellent y i e l d s of methane ( t o 99.0%) and water ( t o 10%) were achieved; minor amounts of carbon dioxide were formed as a by-product.A n e g l i g i b l e amount of carbon ( l e s s than 0.1%) w a s deposited on t h e c a t a l y s t during s e v e r a l hours of operation.s i l i c a t e materials ( l u n a r raw materials) t o produce oxygen.The r e a c t i o n appears very promising as a s t e p i n t h e reduction of )b3dT@L
