Abstract: This research presents a statistical approach for estimating truck volumes, based\nprimarily on classification counts and information on roadway functionality, employment,\nsales volume and number of establishments within the state. Models have been created\nthat may predict truck volumes, flows and percentages at any given location in the state\nhighway network. Profiles of truck traffic are developed for selected roadways, indicating\nthe AADT, truck and passenger car volumes and percentages. The procedure has been\nmodeled into a GIS framework, facilitating data analysis and presentation.\n
