Υ polarization at DESY HERA- B

Abstract: The production of $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}$ mesons in fixed target $\mathrm{pN}$ collisions is considered. It is shown that non-relativistic QCD predicts $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}$ states to be produced with sizeable transverse polarization. The possibility of a measurement of the $\ensuremath{\Upsilon}$ polarization at the DESY HERA-$B$ experiment is discussed.
