Causal Civilization Theory
Year: 2025
Type: preprint
Abstract: This paper proposes a novel theoretical framework—Causal Civilization Theory—to examine the rise, stagnation, and collapse of complex societies through the lens of entropic dynamics and recursive systemic design. By analyzing historical patterns of social entropy, resource asymmetry, institutional rigidity, and elite extraction, the study identifies the underlying causal structures that repeatedly lead civilizations toward decay. Drawing parallels between ecological trophic chains and modern socioeconomic hierarchies, the theory reframes civilization as a thermodynamically constrained ecosystem where unchecked centralization inevitably leads to systemic exhaustion or explosive collapse. The paper further introduces a recursive design paradigm that redefines civilizational sustainability not through static order but through adaptive, entropic-resilient architectures. This perspective integrates insights from thermodynamics, information theory, systems theory, and political history, offering a transdisciplinary approach to understanding and redesigning human civilization before it reaches irreversible social entropic death.
