Abstract: This newspaper article examines a sports day fundraiser for Camden Cottage Hospital on 26 January 1901. The day was organised by Combined United Friendly Societies of Camden, consisting of the Sons and Daughters of Temperance and the Order of Royal Foresters members. The event featured various competitions and attracted around 1,000 people, earning £60. Despite the mixed reviews from the local newspaper editor, the day represented community unity and the historical significance of celebrating European settlement.
