Radiative Muon Decay: Measurements of the Branching Fraction
Year: 2025
Type: dissertation
Abstract: Earlier measurements of the muon rare decay branching ratios used simplified simulations and related analysis that approximated the electron/positron mass with zero. This analysis focuses on new, previously not analyzed data for radiative muon decays, and does not use the zero-mass approximation for the electron/positron. Thus, this work represents a step toward a more precise evaluation of the experimental muon radiative decay branching fraction, and paves the way to inclusion of higher order theoretical corrections. The ultimate goal of this line of research is to assess differences of the measured from the theoretical values arising from the standard model.
