Increasing the Competitiveness and Economic Security of Food Industry Enterprises in the Conditions of War in Ukraine

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The article examines the issues of enhancing the competitiveness and economic security of Ukraine's food industry enterprises under wartime conditions. It is noted that the armed conflict has significantly increased risks for Ukrainian businesses, especially due to supply chain disruptions, market instability, as well as legal and financial uncertainty. Approaches to ensuring economic security are considered, including resource optimization, crisis strategy development, and market diversification. Particular attention is paid to analyzing the activities of food industry enterprises in Kharkiv and the Kharkiv region, where many companies strive to continue their operations despite shelling and other risks. Examples of Kharkiv manufacturers who maintain production, adapt business models to new conditions, assist internally displaced persons, and provide support to the Armed Forces of Ukraine are discussed. Under intensified pressure from external factors, such as import and export restrictions, enterprises in the region demonstrate adaptability and readiness for change. It is shown that the ability to adapt quickly and respond flexibly to dynamic challenges contributes to maintaining competitiveness in the market even under crisis conditions. For sustainable development, companies are advised to actively employ innovative solutions, including digital platforms for risk monitoring and making informed business decisions.
