Abstract: Ennals responded quickly to the announcement November 1 by the Honourable Rita Johnston, Minister of Transportation and Highways of the route for the inner arterial through Nanaimo.As described, the route passes east of the College through B. C. Hydro property paralleling Wakesiah A venue and then swings north-west between the College's Vocational division and Nanaimo and District Secondary School.In June, the College Board expressly opposed this alignment on the grounds that it would cause irreparable damage to the educational atmosphere of the College and severely compromise plans for the College's future.
