Abstract: In the DLR project "Optimally Load-Adaptive Aircraft" (oLAF), the use of methods for reducing flight loads on commercial aircraft has been investigated in detail. In a dedicated work package, specific technologies for load reduction have been developed and made available to the other work packages of the project, i.e. aircraft design, wind tunnel tests, and MDO processes. The paper provides an overview of the approaches taken and the results achieved in this work package.
