A World for Wanters
Year: 2025
Type: dissertation
Abstract: The six stories collected in A World for Wanters deal primarily with loneliness and isolation, usually that which accompanies a sudden or traumatic life change, as well as the identity crises that arise when an individual's sense of his place in society is disrupted. Each of these stories, narrated in the first person by a young male protagonist, explores the struggle to reconcile a worldview in which alienation is ordinary and unavoidable with the desire to love and be loved by others.
