Abstract: The features of the transient process of the signal of the total instantaneous power of three phases for quickly determining the time constant (power factor) of electrical networks are considered. The possibility of eliminating the direct input of voltage into the decision device by using a test voltage signal is shown. The structure of a microprocessor device for determining the overheating temperature of IMs during frequent starts is presented.
