Abstract: The demand for the titanium dioxide (TiO2) has been on a steady increase in various sectors due to its unique properties. This overall review is based on an introduction to TiO2’s demands and challenges. It also looks at why various industries have sought new applications of this mineral and which sectors are now demanding titanium dioxide more than before. In addition, there is a discussion on some of the hurdles encountered in producing and using it such as environmental concerns, regulatory issues and health related problems. Finally, this review gives important insights about titanium dioxide’s current state and future prospects
