Abstract: : India's online gaming business is booming expeditiously. As compared to global markets, Indian online gaming market is at a nascent stage but is among the fastest growing online gaming markets in the world. India, while having the world’s second highest number of gamers, faces various challenges in the present world. The present article is a wholesome study on the online gaming regulation in India. The study begins with a brief recap of the origin of online gaming. This article also aims to examine various online gambling activities like online poker, casinos, sports betting etc. in detail. An examination of current regulations on online gambling in India along with the 276th Law Commission report is also done. A comparative analysis of the offline and online gaming with the help of recent landmark case laws is also made in this research. The regulation of gambling is necessary to ensure that gaming sites are run legally, ethically and the online gamblers are treated fairly and safely.
