TerpeneScanner: Exploring and Expanding The Natural Chemical of Cyanobacterial Terpenes and their Biotetechological Potential in Portugal and Brazil by AI

Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: This project aims to identify terpene-producing cyanobacteria strains as sustainable alternatives to traditional plant and petrochemical sources. By combining bioinformatics, molecular biology, and AI, we will analyze cyanobacterial genomes to find biosynthetic gene clusters, particularly terpene synthase genes. Additionally, an AI tool using NLP algorithms will be developed to classify terpenes classes based on genome data. Genomes from NCBI and strains from Brazil and Portugal will undergo next-generation sequencing. This approach promotes blue biotechnology, offering an eco-friendly, cost-effective solution for bioactive compound production.
