Abstract: The paper evaluates how improved claim management systems in general insurance can benefit policyholders.It explores how digital advancements streamline claim processes, leading to faster reimbursements and improvedpolicyholder satisfaction. The primary data was gathered through survey questionnaires from the customers policyholders of the selected general insurance companies (public and private) in Odisha context. Overall, the study involveddistribution of 650 questionnaires among the survey participants. Based on this assessment, few responses were droppedfrom the final study sample. Therefore, the final sample comprises of 593 responses that was used to carry out otherstatistical tests for private and public insurance companies. The findings offer actionable insights for the generalinsurance industry professionals, in terms of improving claim management processes. It has highlighted the difference inclaim settlement efficiency between private and public insurers. The study provides specific recommendations for howcompanies can improve their performance.
