Abstract: The school of today needs to face the challenges of the new generation. The demands of modern society dictate adjustments in school subjects, the blending of cross-disciplinary topics, and innovative teaching methods. The article explores a number of cross-disciplinary teaching methods for Romanian Language and Literature and History. More specifically, it examines the application of transferrable in-class teaching techniques and explores innovative teaching approaches in both subjects. As a case study, we share our experience of applying cross-disciplinary teaching methods in a non-formal activity, namely a school trip connected to both subjects.
