Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Urbanization, the process of population migration from rural to urban areas, has several significant side effects. While it drives economic growth and development, it also presents numerous challenges. Rapid urbanization often leads to overcrowded cities, straining infrastructure and public services. This can result in inadequate housing, traffic congestion, and overburdened healthcare and education systems. Environmental impacts include increased pollution, waste generation, and the loss of green spaces, contributing to climate change and biodiversity loss. Additionally, urbanization can exacerbate social inequalities, with marginalized communities frequently lacking access to essential services. To mitigate these side effects, sustainable urban planning and policies are essential, ensuring that cities can accommodate growing populations while maintaining a high quality of life.present study based on urbanisation and its side effect on various sectors.
