Abstract: Cynocephalus langheldi Matschie, 1892 Sitzungsberichte der Naturforschenden Freunde zu Berlin, p. 233 Current valid name: Papio cynocephalus (Linnaeus, 1766) Syntypes: ZMB 6689, male, skull; ZMB 6690, female, skull; Usukuma [Formerly a large area south of Lake Victoria during German colonization], Tanzania; collected by Langheld; ZMB 6495 skull; Ukami [Iringa region], Tanzania; collected by Lieder, undated. Comment: Matschie mentioned an additional specimen that Stuhlmann shot in the Unguru (Ungun) mountains in September 1888. This specimen could not be found in the collection.
