Abstract: The ability to forecast rainfall is very important for farmers, as India’s economy relies on successful crops and rain. Ifrainfall is accurately predicted, planning how to use water and grow crops becomes much easier. The research aims toestablish ways to use mining techniques and science to predict the chances of rainfall. In predicting rainfall, researchersuse data mining algorithms which include Random Forest, K-Nearest Neighbours, Logistic Regression, Support VectorMachines (SVM) and Decision Trees. The research investigates the algorithms to choose the one most accurate forforecasting rainfall.
