Abstract: Humans are one of the few living beings in the world that speak. That speech later becomes language. Every society starts writing its language after its own languages have developed. That is, spoken language is given a written form. There are still tribal societies that continue to speak orally without converting their language into writing. Tamil society is one of the ancient societies that have both speech and writing together. Some of the various languages that existed three thousand years ago have become extinct/some have been destroyed. However, Tamil is a rich language that is still in use today in speech and writing. Moreover, Tamil language occupies an important place in all the living and cultural spheres of the Tamil people. This article aims to examine the way in which people's names and place names have taken place in such a Tamil writing history.
