The Impact of Phonetics Training on Young Learners' Pronunciation
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article explores the impact of phonetics training on the pronunciation development of young learners in second language acquisition. It highlights the significance of phonetics instruction in improving learners' ability to accurately produce speech sounds, focusing on methods such as auditory discrimination exercises, minimal pair drills, and articulatory training. The article also examines effective teaching strategies, including explicit phonetic instruction, phonetic transcription, and the use of technology, such as speech recognition software and visual feedback tools. Despite its benefits, phonetics training faces challenges, including learners' reluctance to practice, difficulties with complex sounds, and limited resources. Solutions to these challenges are explored, such as creating supportive learning environments, integrating modern technological tools, and ensuring accessibility through digital platforms.
