Discovering Cybersecurity Insights through World Religions

Year: 2024
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This paper explores the intersection of cybersecurity and human behavior, emphasizing how organizations often struggle to enforce security protocols due to the irrational tendencies of individuals. The paper draws inspiration from religious teachings and practices, which have a long history of addressing human weaknesses and errors. By examining religious doctrines and consulting with religious experts, the research seeks to uncover insights that could be applied to improve cybersecurity strategies. The primary objective is to foster interdisciplinary discussions and encourage collaborative thinking to develop more effective and holistic cybersecurity plans. By learning from the approaches that religions use to protect and guide their followers, cybersecurity professionals may be able to design better strategies for securing sensitive information and systems in organizations.
