Synthesis And Biological Evaluation of Alkylated Indole Chalcone Derivatives as Antitubercular and Antimicrobial Agents
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: Infection with the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis causes the disease tuberculosis. In Present research work we synthesized some N-alkylated indole chalcone derivatives and determined their biological activity against the H37Rv strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Inside this library of compounds, (E)-1-(4-bromo-2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-(1-butyl-1H-indol-3-yl)prop-2-en-1-one (S1R8) and (E)-1-(4-bromo-2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-(1-pentyl-1H-indol-3-yl)prop-2-en-1-one (S1R16) displayed anti-tubercular activity with 04 µg/mL and 08 µg/mL MIC values, respectively. The in vitro antibacterial activity of all compounds was calculated against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. N-alkylated Indole Chalcone Derivatives were designed, synthesized and measured by ESI-MS and spectroscopic (FT-IR and 13CNMR) techniques.
