Standards for Official Statistics on Climate-Health Interactions (SOSCHI): Metadata Sheet: Mortality attributable to high and low temperatures
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Climate change is altering global temperature trends. Increasing the frequency, intensity, and duration of temperature extremes in many countries. Rising global temperatures, and the impact on health are of global concern. Current research suggests that globally there are more cold-related deaths than heat-related. However, the global rate of increased climate-related mortality from heat is predicted to offset the rate of decrease in mortality from cold during the 21st Century. This is the Metadata document for indicator: Mortality attributable to high and low temperatures.
