Reflections on Teaching the Method of Constant Variation

Abstract: The method of constant variation is an effective method for solving linear differential equations. It is the result of Lagrange's eleven-year research, but we only use its conclusion without any process, which makes beginners feel mysterious and confused. In order to help students to understand the concept of the method of constant variation, and to stimulate them to think well, liberate their minds and be creative, this paper analyses and explores the method of constant variation.
