BRICS Economic War with the Collective West: Implications for Greece and the Balkans in the Short and Long Term Geopolitical Report Vol 1 Issue 19
Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: A BRICS-led economic war with the collective West would have profound consequences for Greece and the Balkan nations in both the short and long term. In the short term, trade disruptions, energy shortages, and financial instability would create severe economic challenges for these vulnerable economies. In the long term, the fragmentation of the global economy, environmental concerns related to the transition to green energy, and the need to navigate between competing global powers would leave these nations in a precarious position. The idea that Greece and the Balkans could seamlessly transition to renewable energy as a solution to their dependency on Russian energy is both overly optimistic and environmentally problematic. Large-scale green projects come with significant environmental trade-offs that must be carefully considered in any long-term strategy.
