Subdivision as Surface Revelation: A Geometric Basis for the Closed Surface Model

Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This paper proposes a fundamental reconceptualization of physical subdivision. Contrary to classical atomism, which assumes that subdivision converges toward indivisible particles, we argue that extreme subdivision instead reveals and maximizes surface area. In this view, matter is not fundamentally composed of discrete point-like particles, but of minimal closed surfaces—each possessing finite area and capable of dynamic interference. We introduce the idea that energy corresponds to surface expansion (E = Δ S), and that space itself arises from the ongoing expansion and interference of these closed surfaces. This framework offers a coherent geometric basis for understanding gravitational fields, wave behavior, and the structure of space-time without invoking unexplained curvature of a background continuum. This work forms a foundational element of the broader “Closed Surface Theory,” in which mass, energy, wave propagation, gravity, and information are unified through dynamic surface geometry.
