Abstract: The family is the social basis of human society. The strength of anysociety depends on the families that are created in it. Of great importance in buildingfamily and marriage relations are the motives that cause them. This article analyzesthe specifics of the motives for starting a family, the significance of various motivesand their connection with the further success of marriage. The theoretical data onthe identification of the reasons for starting a family are summarized.
