Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Postcolonial narratives are now trained on the digital domain wherethese identity formations, migrations, and cultural hybrids have foundthemselves. This convergence of the systems of digital capitalism, globalization, and postcolonial text analysis can be scrutinized inliterature as an indispensable medium. This study investigates theway postcolonial identity is negotiated in Salman Rushdie’sMidnight’s Children, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Americanah,Zadie Smith’s White Teeth, and David Mitchell’s Cloud Atlas withdigital technology as a backdrop. By analysing these works, the studyconsiders how digital platforms act simultaneously as sites of culturalresistance and vehicles that reproduce colonial hierarchies. Althoughtechnology provides marginalized voices the chance to self-represent,it continues to bolster systems of surveillance, censorship, and digitalimperialism. By interrogating these dualities, this paper contributes tothe discourse on decolonization in the digital age. Keywords: Postcolonialism, Digital Identity, Globalization, CulturalHybridity, Digital Colonialism, Technological Surveillance,
