Year: 2025
Type: conference-paper
Abstract: This article explores the crucial connection between language and national identity, looking at how language serves as a medium for a country's cultural ideals, historical heritage, and social mores. Language unites members of a society and sets them apart from one another. It is not just a means of communication; it is a fundamental indicator of collective consciousness. This study demonstrates how language aspects, including vocabulary, proverbs, idiomatic expressions represent and perpetuate national identity. The difficulties presented by globalization, which frequently results in the predominance of major world languages at the detriment of lesser ones, are also covered. In order to maintain cultural continuity and national pride, the essay highlights the necessity of making deliberate efforts to preserve and advance native languages.
