Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The “Challenge Crisis Plus One” theory provides a novel framework for analyzing Iran’s underdevelopment. It posits that structural crises, exacerbated by performative processes termed wash concept, drive accelerated negative development. Rooted in the Constitutional Trauma of the 1906 revolution and contemporary manifestations like rent-seeking institutions, the theory advocates strengthening independent civil society. Its analytical lens extends to developing nations grappling with similar systemic inefficiencies, offering insights for global development studies.
