Quantum Mechanics and Yoga: A Comparative Study of Awareness and Consciousness

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: : The exploration of consciousness has long served as a common thread connecting ancient philosophical traditions and modern scientific research. Yoga, an ancient practice centered on self-awareness and the cultivation of mental states, provides a comprehensive framework for understanding consciousness through its practices of meditation, mindfulness, and contemplation. Meanwhile, quantum mechanics, a branch of physics focused on the behaviour of subatomic particles, introduces concepts such as uncertainty, interconnectedness, and the role of observation, which intriguingly align with yogic ideas of consciousness and awareness. This paper investigates the relationship between quantum mechanics and yoga, particularly how both disciplines offer perspectives on consciousness and awareness, potentially shedding light on the mechanisms governing the mind and the universe.
