Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: As drug-resistant fungal diseases continues to rise, currently used therapeutic antibiotics have become ineffective. In response to this, new approaches are needed to combatdrug-resistant fungal diseases. Adjuvants, such asphytochemicals or essential oils, can be used with existingantibiotics to increase their potency and efficacy. The currentstudy aimed to investigate if the essential oils derived fromAegle marmelos (L), Murraya koenigii, Callistemon viminalis,Hypericum oblongifolium plants could be used to create anatural antifungal treatment. Oils were derived from plantsand characterization was done using FTIR,TLC,GC MS. Thetarget of this study was the infections carried on by theopportunistic pathogen Candida albicans
