Research on Work Stress in Health Workers

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The aim of this study is to examine the job stress levels of healthcare workers in terms of various demographic variables and to determine whether there are significant differences. The research was conducted in descriptive survey model and the sample consisted of 108 health care workers selected by convenience sampling method. The data were collected using the "Perceived Job Stress Scale" developed by Baltaş and Baltaş (1996) and analyzed with SPSS 25.0 program. According to the results of the study, no significant difference was found between the job stress levels of healthcare workers according to gender, age, marital status, branch and educational status variables. However, a significant difference was found in terms of working years; it was seen that the stress levels of health care workers with 20 years and more experience were higher. This finding indicates that professional seniority may have an effect on stress in the health sector. In line with the data obtained, it was emphasized that health institutions should develop more holistic and seniority-sensitive policies on stress management. In addition, it was concluded that managerial support, reward systems and practices for employee welfare are determinant on job satisfaction and motivation levels of healthcare workers.
