Why Dark energy behaves like negative pressure
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This paper introduces a novel framework that reframes dark energy not as an exotic force, but as the result of a large-scale magnoelectric equilibrium—a balanced interaction between electric expansive energy and magnetic contractive tension. Challenging the traditional narrative that dark energy represents a mysterious repulsive force, this work proposes that the observed negative pressure is a natural byproduct of a zero-net-force condition where electric and magnetic field contributions cancel out in magnitude but not in behavior. Key contributions include: A causal explanation for the negative pressure effect of dark energy rooted in field theory, not new physics. A proposal for replacing the outdated electromagnetic terminology with magnoelectric, offering a clearer distinction between expansive and contractive dynamics. A modified interpretation of the stress-energy tensor that reflects this balance, offering testable implications for large-scale structure, cosmic microwave background anomalies, and vacuum behavior. This paper sets the stage for a paradigm shift in how dark energy is interpreted—moving from mystery to mechanism, and from speculation to structure. ---
