Transforming India's Judiciary System: Building a Fair and Inclusive Legal Framework

Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This paper explores the urgent need to transform India’s judiciary into a more fair, inclusive, and efficient institution that upholds the rule of law and meets the aspirations of a diverse democratic society. While the Indian judiciary has long been respected for its independence and constitutional mandate, it faces persistent challenges such as judicial delays, pendency of cases, lack of transparency, and limited accessibility for marginalized communities. The study highlights the importance of recent reforms, including the use of technology, judicial accountability measures, and enhanced cooperation between the judiciary, executive, and civil society. By examining these developments through a positive and solution-oriented lens, the paper underscores that meaningful transformation requires a holistic and collaborative approach. The ultimate goal is to ensure justice is not only delivered promptly and impartially but is also perceived as accessible, equitable, and inclusive by all segments of the population.
