Abstract: Examining the complex relationship between theology, intellectual enquiry, and devotion in historical texts sheds light on the rich heritage of Indian philosophy. A critical discourse analysis of Śrī Caitanya’s philosophical debate with Sārvabhauma Bhaṭṭācārya, grounded in qualitative research methodology, reveals how his arguments reflect and shape his theological perspectives. Grammatical analysis played a crucial role in this debate, as Śrī Caitanya engaged in nuanced discussion on the nature of Brahman. This analysis uncovers insights into the interplay between knowledge, devotion, and the ultimate reality in Gauḍīya Vaiṣṇava philosophy.
