Civic and political participation of immigrants in Slovenia

Abstract: The process of immigrant integration in host societies encompasses various dimensions, one of which is civic and political participation. Even though this may not be the first and most crucial element in the initial phase of the integration process, it is certainly one that cannot be omitted if a holistic immigrant integration is the aspired aim. The presentation presents a model that we use to study the civic and political participation of immigrants in Slovenia, along with the preliminary results of our research, focusing on identifying the differences in civic and political participation between immigrants and the majority population
