Abstract: This paper formally defines the Grinstead–Voyager Unit (GVU) — the first cosmic distance unit based on verified motion. Derived from Voyager 1’s traversal over 48 years, the GVU provides a real, testable ruler that replaces the speculative light-year and eliminates redshift-based illusions. This paper includes the full GVU tiered measurement scale for recalibrating the universe.
