Non-negative matrix factorization pipeline for multi-muscle motor-evoked potential
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This repository contains the non-negative matrix factorization (NMF) analytical pipeline used to compute the entropy of variance accounted for (HVAF) for the manuscript “Complexity of neural outputs elicited by transcranial magnetic stimulation” (Morishita et al. 2025, Journal of Neurophysiology). The pipeline also computes motor-evoked modules (MEMs) for the manuscript “Motor-evoked modules obtained from transcranial magnetic stimulation” (Morishita et al. 2026, Journal of Neurophysiology). It includes: NMF pipeline (PIPE_NMF_v3.m) to compute HVAF and MEMs from multimuscle motor-evoked potential data CCR pipeline (PIPE_CCR_v1.m) to perform cross-condition reconstruction (CCR) from multimuscle motor-evoked potential data, as used in the MEM manuscript Sample data for both pipelines Notes: This version (v3) is archived for reproducibility This version contains the analytical pipelines used for the HVAF and MEM studies described above All materials are provided under the CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license What is new in v3 (relative to v2): New analytical pipeline: Added the CCR analytical pipeline (PIPE_CCR_v1.m) Documentation update: Updated documentation in the NMF pipeline (PIPE_NMF_v3.m) Important note: The core computations of the NMF pipeline (PIPE_NMF_v3.m) are unchanged relative to v2
