Abstract: This paper examines the complex landscape of sustainable economic development in India, analysing the intersection of rapid economic growth, environmental sustainability, and social equity. India faces unique challenges given its large population, developing economy status, and vulnerability to climate change. However, the country also possesses significant opportunities through renewable energy adoption, circular economy initiatives, sustainable agriculture, and inclusive growth models. This research synthesizes current literature, policy frameworks, and case studies to provide a comprehensive assessment of India's progress toward sustainable development goals while offering policy recommendations for a more balanced approach to economic advancement that preserves environmental integrity and promotes social inclusion.
