Decolonizing International Relations: African and Indigenous Contributions

Abstract: This study explores the imperative of decolonizing International Relations (IR) theory by interrogating its Eurocentric foundations and advocating for the integration of African and Indigenous epistemologies. Employing a qualitative research methodology grounded in secondary sources, the study draws from a wide array of scholarly literature, philosophical traditions, and political movements to examine how IR reproduces colonial hierarchies in both theory and pedagogy.
