Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This article presents a poetic analysis of Zulfiqar Shahadat’s Pathorchore, where the poet uses symbolic language to offer a sharp critique of state corruption, administrative negligence, and social injustice. Through the metaphor of the “stone thief,” the poem portrays the plundering of national resources, abuse of power, and bureaucratic inefficiency. The discussion examines the poem’s language, symbolism, socio-political context, and artistic form. The analysis shows that Pathorchore is a simple yet powerful political poem, calling for change and demanding accountability.
