Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: This study investigates the impact of digitalization on work-life balance in the higher education sector in India. With the rapid advancement of technology and its integration into academic workflows, understanding its effects on educators' personal and professional lives is crucial. The research employs a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with faculty members from various Indian higher education institutions. The findings reveal both positive and negative impacts of digitalization on work-life balance, with increased flexibility and productivity offset by challenges such as extended working hours and difficulty disconnecting from work. The study provides insights for policymakers and institutional leaders to develop strategies that harness the benefits of digitalization while mitigating its adverse effects on work-life balance.
