Year: 2024
Type: article
Abstract: The Russia-Ukraine War, which began in 2014 and escalated into a full-scale conflict in 2022, has significantly impacted the global security landscape. This research article explores the multifaceted consequences of the war, focusing on its geopolitical, economic, and military dimensions. The conflict has heightened tensions between Russia and the West, leading to the largest European war since World War II, and spurred a reevaluation of global security alliances such as NATO. The war has also caused widespread economic disruptions, including energy crises in Europe, global inflation, and food supply shortages. Additionally, the use of hybrid warfare tactics, cyber-attacks, and disinformation campaigns have underscored the evolving nature of modern warfare. The conflict has led to unprecedented sanctions on Russia, prompting a global realignment, with nations reconsidering their foreign policies and military strategies. This research article argues that the Russia-Ukraine War is reshaping the international order, intensifying security concerns, and fostering new geopolitical alliances, while also highlighting the vulnerabilities of global economic and security systems. Understanding the war’s long-term impact is essential for crafting future strategies to manage emerging threats in an increasingly multipolar world.
