A Theoretical Study on the Positive Statistics Methodology
Year: 2025
Type: other
Abstract: This theoretical study presents the foundations and applications of the Positive Statistics methodology, a novel approach developed by Ahmed Jamal Al-Jassar in 2025. Unlike traditional statistics, which mainly emphasize diagnosing problems and deficiencies, Positive Statistics provides a development-oriented analytical framework that highlights success factors, empowerment, and improvement indicators. The paper traces the philosophical and scientific roots of the methodology, drawing on insights from positive psychology, humanistic and existential philosophies, and applied statistics. It outlines the key principles of Positive Statistics, introduces its main analytical tools—such as the Positive Empowerment Index (PEI), the Coverage Index (CI), and the Composite Positive Achievement Index (CPAI)—and compares its approach with conventional statistical practices. Several applied case studies are also discussed, covering education, sustainable development, health, infrastructure, and organizational performance. These applications demonstrate the added value of Positive Statistics in capturing incremental improvements, identifying empowering conditions, and providing constructive interpretations for policy-making and decision support. By establishing both a conceptual and methodological framework, this work contributes to positioning Positive Statistics as a complementary paradigm in applied statistics, aimed at measuring progress and fostering continuous improvement rather than merely documenting decline.
