Drone Technology: Principals and Applications in Geography
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Geography, as a discipline, relies heavily on the acquisition, analysis, and interpretation of spatial and temporal data. Traditionally, geographers have employed field surveys, satellite imagery, and aerial photography to understand and represent the Earth’s surface and phenomena. While effective, these methods have limitations in terms of cost, accessibility, and data resolution. In recent years, drone technology has emerged as a disruptive force, bridging gaps in data collection and offering new avenues for research and application (Colomina & Molina, 2014).
