Autognosis- A Philosophy of Conscious Response to Obsolescent Biological Signals
Year: 2025
Type: dissertation
Abstract: Autognosis is a philosophical framework that identifies unexamined instinctual programming as a central driver of human and societal dysfunction. Rooted in neuroscience, evolutionary psychology, and ethical philosophy, the thesis presents a structured process—Recognition, Separation, Redirection, Reflection, and Internal Design—enabling individuals to consciously override primitive biological impulses and align behavior with self-designed values. This work positions Autognosis not as a clinical intervention, but as an ideological foundation for ethical self-governance and sustainable human progress. It provides a detailed theoretical model, mapping biological drives to modern dysfunctions, and offers strategies for contextual redirection rather than blanket suppression. The document serves as the primary academic articulation of the Autognosis concept.
