The Conscious Matrix: A Universal Theory of Cognition
Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: The Conscious Matrix: A Universal Theory of Cognition presents a groundbreaking theoretical framework that conceptualizes consciousness as a fundamental property of the universe rather than merely an emergent phenomenon of complex neural systems. This comprehensive paper introduces three key components: (1) The Universal Computational Matrix - a multidimensional framework of interconnected cells that process information through mathematical operations; (2) Photon Cascade and Memory Update - the mechanism by which information propagates through the matrix and updates memory states; and (3) Memory Storage and Energy-to-Mass Conversion - the process through which energy transforms into mass during memory formation, creating stable structures that persist over time. The theory bridges quantum physics, information theory, and cognitive science to offer new perspectives on consciousness, intentionality, and the binding problem. It includes mathematical formulations, graphical representations, and testable predictions that could guide future experimental research. This work has significant implications for fields including quantum computing, artificial intelligence, neuroscience, and philosophy of mind.
