Year: 2025
Type: article
Abstract: Daughter, preserving the village's myths, rituals, and cultural heritage. Rooted in Berber culture, this art form offers women expression and autonomy through creative practices like pottery and weaving. Using clay, an everyday material, Sejnane women create art objects that convey their inner thoughts, desires, and unspoken societal taboos. This article delves into these female artisans’s historical and anthropological roles, showcasing how their work embodies resilience and cultural identity. It examines the symbolic motifs and patterns that decorate their pottery, revealing a "silent language" that communicates the community’s traditional and cultural values. The research also sheds light on the interplay between gender roles, nature, and artistic expression in the life and work of Sejnane’s potters.
